“Work hard, play harder”, this phrase keeps us motivated in our daily grind. It reminds us of our life’s priorities and values.
Yes, everybody needs to work hard. You can be on a 9-5 job, managing a business, a stay-at-home parent, or a student… Whichever situation you are currently in, working hard is a must. Working hard doesn’t necessarily mean you have to do long working hours. It simply means being productive while working smart. You become productive when you manage your time wisely and when you focus your energy during your allotted time.
But first things first, you need to find the reason WHY you need to work hard so that you will stay motivated. It’s always important to start with our whys.
You may be a parent who needs to earn a living for your family. Or you may be a daughter who supports her father. You may be a young professional working your way up on the career ladder.
It can get tiring at times. There will be moments when you’ll hate your job, quit and find a new one. Just get back up and remind yourself on that phrase again, “work hard, play harder.”
Rest. It’s free. You can’t just grind, grind, repeat. Everybody needs some time off. Work on your self-care and do things you love. For sure, when you do not waste time and start early, you will soon reap the fruits of your labor. If you start young, you’ll even play sooner than others.
Don’t forget to enjoy life. That’s what playing hard actually means. Spend time with your family and friends, buy that pretty dress you’ve been eyeing since last month, go and book that flight ticket! While you work hard, don’t neglect the fact that you need to live in the moment. YOLO as they say. Just make sure that you hustle first before all these rewards. Practice delayed gratification. It will surely be worth it in the end!
Life is not for lazy people. You need to hustle to enjoy life to its fullest. You need to buy clothes, food, pay bills, and settle a whole lot of unending bills. So, to all of you who are working hard to play harder, cheers! Let’s enjoy life every single day.
