Karla is the CEO of Esthetic Lines by Alexandra. She is a successful entrepreneur in the beauty industry. She delivers high-quality permanent makeup services using the finest and most current techniques. She has a degree in Mathematics and Statistics but found her real passion in the beauty industry.
A lot of us are struggling and thinking how we can survive during this pandemic. Because of the pandemic, we had to cancel schedules, advanced bookings, travels and many business plans we planned for this year. But also because of this pandemic we have TIME. Because of this pandemic, we learn to APPRECIATE the job we have, the things we enjoy such as travelling, meeting friends and simply going out for a walk. It may never be like the same but WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.
During this time, you have to use your potential to the full extent. Aside from the service you are expert at, what are other services you can do. Karla has been fully booked in the service she’s known for but she had to reject so many business opportunities because she does not simply want to do it. She was also ashamed of selling products in her own salon but realized that these business opportunities matter. There are other routes and other avenues you can explore. You have to make use and take advantage of whatever avenues you have. Spread your wings and cover more things you can. Your income is not just based on services
You can verge into something you can do online, learn to provide more services, diversify your services which you can provide online since we cannot do services physically.
It is also time for business owners or artists to be HUMANE. Care for your clients as humans not just as a source of income. Since a lot of advanced bookings were cancelled, offer them a refund or a choice to keep it so they can use it later. The important thing is you give them a choice. You are not in business to rip people off but give them value that they deserve.
Another realization is to SAVE AN EMERGENCY FUND. For Karla, it’s okay even if she doesn’t work for a couple of months. She would be fine because she was able to save. The help that the government is giving is not enough to pay rents or your bills. I know we all want a nice pair of shoes, new gadgets, travel and luxuries but it is important to at least save an amount of money that could last you for six months so you can pay for your rents, your bills and expenses.
Before we often complain we don’t have time. But now WE HAVE A LOT OF TIME.
All the things we didn’t have time for, we could do now. We don’t need to always log in and watch how many deaths there are. This is what it is. No one predicted this to happen. But now we can appreciate the importance of our health. We used to work so hard that we had to spend money for a good massage or to relax. Now is time to invest in yourself. Educate yourself and take care of your body more. That is another great investment you can do for yourself.
